The US markets are so used to the up-up-up that retail investors, to whom mass media caters, freak out with just a mention of recession. And the media does its best feeding the fire to get the rankings. Think about it: nobody writes the news for you. They write them for themselves!
The situation with the government feeding the markets and the public to avoid a recession resembles forest fire suppression. It works for a while, but eventually the dead wood builds up, and the forest fire that finally comes is far more devastating than a smaller fire that could have burned off the smaller underbrush.
The markets make money when the markets swing. A recession is a healthy part of the economic cycle.
Back to the freaking out retail investors: when you freak out, the big investors make their money. Thank you!
